Dormarion - Chapter Preview

“Hit me again,” she asked in a monotone, not even bothering to look up from the cracked ancient tome spread open before her.

A moment later a sensate approached her wordlessly with a shallow brass cup containing the heinous-tasting glandular secretion of a startled fox or wolf cut with spinal fluid from today’s unfortunate donor down in the Emporium’s Bazaar. Eleanor choked it down and then turned to look at the sensate—it was Margery—who casually blasted blinding daylight directly in Eleanor’s open eyes. Mjargi’lig, Margery annunciated clearly. Light.

Eleanor felt like she would vomit. Her whole body shook. But she was wide awake again, and determined to find something in one of these books that would heal The Sorcerer.
